Video: unboxing the iPhone 14 and first setup
What is in the box, how to move your data from an old phone, and the three settings worth changing on day one.
Watch the unboxing above, then follow the steps below at your own pace.
In the box
The phone, a USB-C to Lightning cable and the paperwork. There is no power adapter or earphones in the box — any 20 W USB-C charger works.
Moving your data
- From another iPhone: hold the phones together and use Quick Start.
- From Android: install “Move to iOS” on the old phone before you start.
- Either way, plug both phones in — the transfer can take an hour.
Three settings to change on day one
- Settings → Battery → turn on Optimised Charging.
- Settings → Display → set Auto-Lock to 1 minute.
- Settings → Privacy → review which apps can use Location.
